Join the community as we celebrate the official naming of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park  on Aug 11, at 9:30 a.m. 360 Appleford Gate in Bridgwater Trails. Celebrating diversity – promoting cultural understanding – diversity is Canada’s strength.

Bhagat Singh was a revolutionary who sacrificed his life for India’s independence. As a well-educated man, he was a member of the young Revolutionary Movement, founded the Indian Nationalist Youth Organization, and was a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. Mr. Singh had a vision of Free India and contributed significantly to the freedom struggle. He wrote for several newspapers and worked in ways to contribute intensely for the freedom movement. Mr. Singh is considered to be one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. His bravery and sacrifice made him an iconic figure in the chapters of India’s Independence and he is remembered throughout India and Pakistan with great emotions and high spirits. The quest for freedom is a long road filled with hardships and joy. Please join us at the park opening to learn more!
