Touring Manitoba Recreation Centres

Thanks, MLA Jon Reyes, for lining up a tour of the Meridian Exhibition complex in Winkler and the Niverville Community Resource & Recreation Centre in Niverville Manitoba for myself and South Winnipeg Community Centre Paramjit Shahi!

It was a stormy windy day, but we received the warmest of welcomes from Mayor Siemens of Winkler, Warren and his team from Niverville, and had a great lunch and discussions with Minister Cameron Friesen.  To see a brief overview and photos of each tour, see:

It’s great to see and hear the opportunities and challenges that these communities faced when building new and renovating existing recreation facilities. As Winnipeg embarks on the design and construction project for a new facility in southwest Winnipeg, servicing 120,000 people, these conversations are invaluable!
