Waverley Intersection – Congestion and Improvements

I –  like you, and the Public Service  – are very aware of congestion and operational challenges at the Waverley and Abinojii Mikanah intersection. When this intersection was constructed, it was not designed to handle the volume of traffic exiting / entering Waverley West neighbourhoods. I have directed the engineers to conduct a broad review of the Abinojii Mikanah corridor to consider short-term and long-term improvements to address existing and future development pressure – specifically focusing on the Waverley intersection. The engineers have prepared functional design drawings to incorporate upgrades to improve overall capacity and are preparing a comprehensive report on the next steps.  This report will be coming forward in September 2025.
