Celebration of Bangla New Year

The Canada-Bangladesh Association (CBA) of Manitoba has arranged a colorful celebration of Bangla New Year 1429 on Sunday, June 12th. In 2016 UNESCO declared Mangal Shobhajatra as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The festival is celebrated with processions known as Mongol Shovajatra. Men and women wear traditional dresses in red – white attire and women put on flower crowns on heads along with their traditional ornaments and accessories along with colorful dresses.
