Goodbye 2024 – Hello 2025!
A short newsletter reflecting on the past and looking to the future! As mainstream media primarily covers city wide issues, my newsletters focus on activities, issues and events in the Waverley West ward.
I want to express my sincerest thanks for the incredible support, guidance and direction I receive from residents of the Waverley West ward. As you know, I aim to attend as many events as possible to be accessible so we can connect on what matters to you. The role of a city Councillor is all encompassing, and can be overwhelming at times. I simply could not deliver on this role without your amazing support and the outstanding support of Andrea Chow, our Community Relations director who navigates the phones, emails and more! It is an honour and very humbling to represent the incredible residents of the Waverley West ward. From my family to yours, I wish you a most healthy, prosperous and joyous 2025!

South Winnipeg Recreation Campus - Phase One

One of my top priorities as Councillor was to secure funding to construct a new recreation campus so am thrilled to report $94.02 million is secured for the recreation campus, design is almost complete, a tender will go out soon, and construction will start in 2026. Watch for an upcoming community meeting update in March.

High Poverty Support

A common misconception is we have no poverty in South Winnipeg – which is far from the truth. Councillor Chambers and I are working with our Provincial MLA’s to do what we can to address and support the needs in our community.
