Trees and Black Knot Fungus – Town Hall

Councillors Brian Mayes and Janice Lukes will be hosting a Town Hall on Monday, May 25, 2015 regarding Black Knot, a fungal disease which affects many species of trees. Everyone is welcome to attend this open house and learn about the City of Winnipeg’s action plan on dealing with Black Knot.
This meeting is a a great opportunity to speak with City staff from the Urban Forestry Branch to learn more about Black Knot and its effects on Schubert Chokecherry as well as other trees in our urban landscape. Black knot, widespread throughout North America, causes unsightly black growths on the branches and trunk.
Please invite your friends and neighbours to attend this information session on Winnipeg’s urban forest on May 25!
