Community Forum on Safety & Crime Prevention

Please mark your calendar to join me on October 4 at this community forum on public safety and crime prevention:

WHEN:  7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017
WHERE:  École South Pointe School, 615 Kirkbridge Drive (Community Use Room – directional signs will be posted)

Over the past six months, my office has received an increase in crime related enquiries, primarily concerning vehicle and home break-ins.  I’ve been working with the Winnipeg Police Service to increase surveillance, and am encouraging you to attend this event to learn more about:

  • Types of crimes being committed in South Winnipeg
  • General areas where the crimes are occurring
  • Specifics on what YOU can do to prevent becoming a victim
  • Traffic enforcement programs and speeding

Everyone has a role to play in making our homes and communities safer.  Residents act as the eyes and ears of their community FIRST, and the extended eyes and ears of the Winnipeg Police SECOND.  Attend this event to learn how to proactively protect your property, increase community safety and be aware of the many crime prevention tools available to you.  Members of the Winnipeg Police Service will be in attendance to answer your questions and inform.

I look forward to chatting with you on October 4.
