As many of you know, on December 12, 2016, a massive fire destroyed a home in Bridgwater Lakes. Abdul Yusuf’s family of five lived in the home on Rose Garden Crescent. The fire, which started in the attached garage, forced residents of neighbouring homes to evacuate. There were no injuries, but the entire contents of the family’s home were destroyed.
Yesterday, members of the Bridgwater Lakes Neighbourhood Association contacted Abdul’s daughter Nida, who confirmed that their family is safe, and is currently staying with other famly members who have provided them with clothing and food.
To assist this family, Bridgwater Lakes Neighbourhood Association has established an account at the new Scotiabank where donations are being accepted. The Yusuf family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support and concern from their neighbours and the community.
It is truly wonderful to see how our community has rallied around the Yusuf family with care and generosity. Thank you to the members of the Bridgwater Lakes Neighbourhood Association, and to the donors who are supporting this family during their time of need.
