Fireworks

I brought forward a motion for the  Public Service to complete a cross jurisdictional scan and report back in 120 days ( June 2026)  on the use, permitting, and penalties for operating fireworks on private and public property, and include the following:

1. Comparisons of fines for the use of fireworks without a permit in other cities.
2. Specific provisions from other jurisdictions which govern the use and sale of fireworks on public and private property.
3. Additional recommendations to control the use of fireworks in the City of Winnipeg.
