Upcoming Community Engagement Events

A recent article in The Lance and Sou’Wester Community Newspapers provided a helpful overview of community meetings which I will be hosting over the next few weeks.  I encourage to attend these events and share your ideas!

Great Conversations

As I work through my first year as city councillor for South Winnipeg–St. Norbert, I’m holding many sessions where I can meet with community members to gather and share information on initiatives that support the community’s priorities.

During the election, residents clearly expressed challenges and opportunities for the South Winnipeg–St. Norbert electoral ward. This feedback was invaluable in helping me understand and set priorities for my term as your councillor. See my website for a list of community priorities I am working on.

For the month of August, I spent Saturday mornings at the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market meeting many folks who wanted to have ‘coffee and conversation’ on a wide range of topics.  I have to say, it was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning. Many ideas and issues were discussed, ranging from combined sewer overflows to car sharing to seeing unidentified flying objects. I’m not sure how many problems we actually solved, but it provided a perfect venue for me to meet and chat with community members!

Fall is always a busy time. I’m hosting a series of events this fall (please click on the items below) on topics important to our community and encourage you to attend, E-mail me or call in your thoughts on these topics.  These discussions will offer an opportunity for your input and help shape future direction in our community. I encourage you to participate in a way most convenient for you.
