Manitoba Hydro: Manitoba-Minnesota Transmission Project

Manitoba Hydro’s Manitoba-Minnesota Transmission Project includes construction of a 500,000-volt AC transmission line from the Winnipeg area to the U.S. border in SE Manitoba.
The proposed route will travel south of St. Norbert Provincial Park (see map below), along what is known as the Southern Loop corridor. For details, see Project Description.
Beginning this month, surveyors will be accessing landowner property along the proposed transmission line. This survey work will assist discussions with landowners about the acquisition of easements for the right-of-way and with tower placement. No construction will occur unless regulatory approval is granted.
