Waverley West Ward Priorities

This is a high level list Waverley West ward concerns, issues & resident priorities resulting from four years of community engagement, discussions, and recent election conversations.

There may be more, and if so, let’s discuss.  There are many initiatives one can focus on in this role. At this point in time, these are the priorities I will be focusing on for the next four years.

Priorities with significant budget implications

On January 9, 2019 I hosted a 2019 Budget – City & Waverley West Priorities presentation. I presented in detail how these priorities were being addressed in the budget:

  • Community Safety
  • Improving Transit
  • Constructing a Recreation Campus
  • Fire Hall
  • Waverley Heights Road Repairs
  • Parks & Greenspace Maintenance
  • Snow Removal on Pathways

Resolving Growth Related Issues

  • Park / sport field handoffs
  • Fountain Operations
  • Traffic calming / traffic control devices
  • Care/Maintenance Program for Bridgwater Forest
  • Homeowner Education Programs
    • Yard maintenance
    • Sump pumps

Issued related to Rental Properties

  • Yard maintenance
  • Parking
  • Working with developers to increase housing stock

Ward Budget Funding Support

  • Park Improvements (ie: playstructures, cricket pitches, kayak launch, etc)
  • Local Support (sponsorship of community events)
