Working to make our Community and City ‘Age-Friendly’

Join me on March 19 as we learn about the steps in making our community “Age-Friendly”.  I and the Mayor’s Age-Friendly and Seniors Advisory Committee invite you to learn, and provide feedback on existing and future actions and opportunities in making our community and City more age-friendly.

9:15 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015
Southlands Church, 85 Keslar Road
Hosted by the Fort Garry Community Network

What is an Age-Friendly City?   Winnipeg is part of a global movement to create an age-friendly city. Age-friendly cities offer enhanced opportunities for citizens of all ages to enjoy healthy, active lives with the security, social participation and community support that allow a high quality of life. In practical terms, an age-friendly city adapts its structures and services to be accessible to and inclusive of older people with varying needs and capacities.
