Information Evening: The Health of Bridgwater Forest

Calling all Nature Lovers and Tree Huggers who care about the future of the trees and creatures who live in Bridgwater Forest! Please join me at an Information Evening on the Health of Bridgwater Forest:
DATE: Tuesday, June 27, 2017
TIME: 7:00 to 8:30 pm
LOCATION: Waverley Heights Community Centre, 1885 Chancellor Drive (meet in the Sunroom)
The Neighbourhoods of Bridgwater (Forest, Lakes and Trails) weave through approximately 25 acres (10 hectares) of Aspen Parkland, fondly known as the Bridgwater Forest. As more houses and residents move into the community, the forest is adapting to the stresses of living in an urban environment.
I am hosting an information evening on the health of the forest, current City initiatives, and how we, as area residents, can best care for this community greenspace. I will be seeking area residents who are interested in becoming involved in caring for the forest.
Many Winnipeggers across our city care for their community’s trails, rivers and forests, and have have organized themselves as environmental stewards of these pristine pieces of nature. Some examples include:
- Save our Seine
- Friends of Harte Trail
- Normand Park Residents Association
- Friends of Henteleff Park
I hope to see you at this information evening on June 27! If you have any questions, please E-Mail our office.
