Thatcher Drive Rehabiliation

UPDATE – May 4th, 2020

Thatcher Drive from Pembina Highway to University Crescent will be receiving a renewal  / rehabilitation this summer. Sections of concrete and curbs will be replaced, followed by a new layer of asphalt. Details can be found in the letter sent to residents.

Construction is expected to begin May 11, 2020 weather permitting and shall take five weeks to complete.

UPDATE – October 22nd

Due to the extreme wet weather conditions, Thatcher Drive will now be repaired in SPRING 2020.  Mother Nature took over on this project!

Residents should have received the following Letter from the City of Winnipeg in regards to the 2019 Street Renewal Program:

To:  RESIDENTS Dear Sir/Madam:

2019 Local Street Renewal Program:  Thatcher Drive – Pembina Hwy to University Crescent

We wish to advise you that construction on your street shall commence the week of September 23, 2019 and will take approximately four weeks to complete weather permitting.

The work will include the repair of the concrete pavement, replacement of the curb and miscellaneous sidewalks at various locations and will be followed by the placement of a new asphalt overlay to improve the drainage and rideability.

During construction, the street will be restricted to local access only and parking will be prohibited. Pedestrian access will be maintained as much as is possible.

Those with accessibility needs, moving requirements, social functions, any underground appurtenances such as sprinkler systems, lighting cable, etc. within 6.0 m (20 feet) of the street curb line, and questions regarding the project, are asked to contact the project coordinator, Blair Cockrell (contact information below).

We recognize the fact that this project will cause you some inconvenience and disruption during its course and apologize for this. Your patience during construction will be much appreciated.
