Construction Notice – Chancellor Dr from Augusta Dr to Quincy Bay

2022 LOCAL STREET RENEWAL PROGRAM CHANCELLOR DRIVE – FROM AUGUSTA DRIVE TO QUINCY BAY

October 2022 Update:

Due to weather conditions, construction on Chancellor Drive from Augusta Drive to Quincy Bay ended for the 2022 season. Remaining work, including sidewalk and approaches on the north side of the street, will resume and be completed in Spring 2023.

During the 2022 construction season, City completed half of the eastbound roadway new asphalt pavement and the driveway approaches. There is a grade differential along the centerline due to the new asphalt and City will be placing temporary asphalt to make it safe for the winter. City has also placed top soil along the sidewalks and will be placing additional top soil on the boulevards and the back of sidewalk followed by new sod in the spring and complete the westbound work similar to the eastbound.

The above renewal project has been approved for construction as part of the City of Winnipeg’s 2022 Local Street Renewal Program. See the letter sent to residents.

  • Construction Start: August 9, 2022
  • Duration: 5 weeks (Due to weather conditions, construction on Chancellor Drive from Augusta Drive to Quincy Bay ended for the 2022 season. Remaining work, including sidewalk and approaches on the north side of the street, will resume and be completed in Spring 2023.)
  • Traffic implications: Local Access Only

As part of this work, the contractor will repair the pavement and sidewalk, renew the curb, and install a new asphalt overlay to improve drainage and rideability. During construction the street will be closed except for local access and there will be no street parking permitted. Pedestrian access to residences and vehicle access to driveways will be maintained.

We are asking anyone with accessibility needs, moving requirements, planned special events or known underground appurtenances (such as sprinkler systems, lighting cables, etc.) within 20 feet of the curb, to contact Blair Cockrell at (204) 928-8431.
